P.O.W.E.R. Act Virtual Continuing Legal Education Event
A Look at Gender-Based Violence, Femicide and Transfemicide in Puerto Rico
In its continuing series highlighting the increasing rates of gender violence in Puerto Rico, and how and how such violence harms the most vulnerable members of our society, the United States District Court of Puerto Rico (“USDCPR”), in partnership with the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico’s Women Advocate Office (“PRWAO”), will hold an event aimed at recognizing the relevance of the biopsychosocial aspects and protocols established for addressing situations of gender-based violence, femicide and transfemicide in Puerto Rico. This virtual event will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.
The program will run from 2:00 pm until 4:30 pm and will be hosted through the Microsoft TEAMS application. Every effort will be made to obtain accreditation from the Puerto Rico Supreme Court’s Continuing Legal Education Program. Registration will be on a “first come, first served” basis. Requests for reservation will only be received through the Court’s registration application link embedded in the invitation. Registration will be on a “first come, first serve” basis.

After the reservation period has closed, the Clerk’s Office will send a confirmation notice to registered attorneys with a reserved space, with the link to access the event, to the email address registered in the CM/ECF system.
