Chief Judge Raúl M. Arias-Marxuach of the District of Puerto Rico participated in the first regional Judicial Studies Institute (JSI)-alumni conference, held from September 23-25 in San Salvador, El Salvador. The event, organized by OPDAT El Salvador, brought together over 140 judges from nine Latin American countries, including Mexico, Honduras, and Colombia. Judge Arias-Marxuach shared insights on judicial independence in the context of assuring an efficient and fair proceeding, contributing to discussions on enhancing the judicial process across the region. The conference marks a significant step in fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among the judiciary in the Western Hemisphere.
