On December 5 and 6, 2024, the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico welcomed 17 Latin American judges representing nine countries as part of the Department of Justice's Judicial Studies Institute (JSI) program.
Hailing from Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Peru, and Paraguay, the visiting judges had the opportunity to observe federal court proceedings on December 5, presided over by District Judge Pedro A. Delgado-Hernández.
On December 6, the program continued with in-depth training sessions focusing on District Court operations and case management led by District Judge Aida M. Delgado-Colón, followed by a presentation from the U.S. Probation Office for the District of Puerto Rico.
This visit underscores the Court’s ongoing commitment to fostering judicial collaboration and sharing best practices with members of the international legal community.
