On April 23, 2026, the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico welcomed members of Federal Bureau of Prisons leadership development program from the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) Guaynabo to the Clemente Ruiz Nazario U.S. Courthouse in Hato Rey.

 

The visit provided an opportunity for MDC officials to engage with judicial officers and court personnel on matters relating to the administration of justice and the coordination of federal criminal proceedings. The program included presentations and discussions with representatives from the Court, the Federal Public Defender’s Office, and the United States Probation Office, offering a comprehensive overview of the federal judicial process and interagency collaboration.

 

The Court values opportunities such as this visit to foster communication and strengthen partnerships with federal agencies involved in the criminal justice system.
