University of Ottawa and University of Puerto Rico Law Students Visit Federal District Court

On January 15, 2025, students from the University of Ottawa’s Winter Session and the University of Puerto Rico School of Law visited the Clemente Ruiz Nazario U.S. Courthouse in San Juan. They were accompanied by Professor Nilda Navarro and Dr. Paola Zaragoza as part of an academic exchange program. The students previously completed two courses in Ottawa and are concluding a week-long program with two courses in Puerto Rico.

The visit included a special opportunity to meet with Chief Judge Raúl M. Arias-Marxuach, who welcomed the students, answered their questions, and facilitated discussions about the judicial system in Puerto Rico. The group also observed several criminal proceedings presided over by Chief Judge Arias-Marxuach.

The District Court is honored to support educational initiatives that promote legal understanding and cross-cultural exchange.
