Notice from the Clerk: Notice from the Clerk No. 22-14: Virtual CLE Program on October 27-28, 2022

The United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico ("USDCPR") is sponsoring a Virtual Continuing Legal Education ("CLE") program, to be held on October 27 and 28. 2022. This Virtual CLE will be a two-day,ten-hour program, to be offered free of charge to members of the Bar in good standing.  Every effort will be made to obtain accreditation from the Puerto Rico Supreme Court's Continuing Legal Education Program.

The CLE program will consist of the following lectures:

  1. Analytic Structure of Fourth Amendment Claims and Fourth Amendment Aspects of Digital Searches and Seizures.
  2. The U.S. Supreme Court Review: Key Decisions of 2021-2022 Term and Preview of Upcoming Term;
  3. Free Speech and Internet Communications;
  4. Legal Aspects of Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain;

Prior to submitting your registration application, be advised that:

  • Each attorney must make his/her own reservation.
  • Attorneys must be in good standing to register (contact the Clerk's Office Cashier at 787-772-3061 to verify status).
  • To request CLE accreditation from the Puerto Rico Supreme Court CLE Program, participants will be required to provide their registered "RUA" number as part of the application.
  • Only attorneys with confirmed registration may access the virtual CLE Program.
  • Confirmed attorneys must commit to attend the two-day Virtual CLE Program.
  • Registration deadline is October 14, 2022.
  • Attorneys with a confirmed registration who fail to attend must explain reasons in writing.
  • Registered participants are encouraged to test their access to the Virtual CLE internet webpage prior to the start of the program.
  • Telephone calls for registration to the virtual CLE program will not be accepted.

After the registration period has closed, the Office of the Clerk will send a confirmation notice to registered attorneys to the e-mail address listed in the CM/ECF System. Attorneys with confirmed registration must notify any cancellations on or before October 20, 2022, by sending an email
