In its continuing series highlighting the increasing rates of gender violence in Puerto Rico, and how such violence harms the most vulnerable members of our society, the United States District Court of Puerto Rico ("USDCPR"), in partnership with the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico's Women Advocate Office ("PRWAO"), will hold an event aimed at recognizing the relevance of the biopsychosocial aspects and protocols established for addressing situations of gender-based violence, femicide and transfemicide in Puerto Rico. This virtual event will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022
 
Feature speakers for this event are: Madeline Bermudez-Sanabria, Esq., Deputy Solicitor PRWAO; Dr. Barbara Umpierre-Garcia, Deputy Solicitor for Education and Support Services PRWAO and Luis Rodriguez-Nazario, Esq., Deputy Solicitor for Legal Affairs PRWAO. The program will run from 2:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., and will be hosted through the Microsoft TEAMS application. Every effort will be made to obtain accreditation from the Puerto Rico Supreme Court's Continuing Legal Education Program. Requests for reservation will only be received through the Court's registration application link embedded in the invitation. Registration will be on a  "first come, first serve" basis.
 
Prior to submitting your registration application, be advised that:
 
•  Each attorney should register individually.
•  Attorneys must be in good standing to register.
•  Participants must commit to attend the entire event.
•  Attorneys with confirmed spaces will be provided a URL link to access the virtual event.
•  The deadline to reserve is Wednesday, August 31, 2022.
•  Attorneys with confirmed reservation who fail to attend must explain reasons in writing.
•  No telephone calls will be accepted.
 
After the reservation period has closed, the Clerk's Office will send a confirmation notice to registered attorneys to the email address registered in the CIWECF system, with the link to access the event. Any cancellations must be notified on or before Friday, September 9. 2022, to prd-cle-registration@prd.uscourts.gov
