P.O.W.E.R. ACT EVENT: PSYCHOLOGICAL FIRST AID FOR SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

In its continuing series highlighting the increasing rates of gender violence in Puerto Rico and its effects, the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico (“District of Puerto Rico”), in partnership with the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico’s Women Advocate Office (“Women Advocate Office”), will hold an event aimed to recognize the relevance of the psychological “first aid” for survivors of domestic violence.
This event will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, at the Clemente Ruiz Nazario U.S. Courthouse, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The featured speakers for this event are: Madeline Bermúdez-Sanabria, Esq., Deputy Solicitor; Dr. Mely González-Madera, Interim Deputy Solicitor for Education and Support Services, and Angel A. Rodríguez-Nazario, Esq., Deputy Solicitor for Legal Affairs, from the Women Advocate Office; and Vanessa Román-Delgado, Assistant Prosecutor from the Specialized Units Coordination Division of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico’s Department of Justice.
The program will run from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. Every effort will be made to obtain accreditation from the Puerto Rico Supreme Court’s Continuing Legal Education Program. Requests for reservation will only be received through the Court’s registration application link. Registration will be on a “first-come, first-served” basis.
Prior to registering please be advised that:
- Each attorney should register individually.
- Attorneys must be in good standing.
- Participants must commit to attend the entire event.
- The deadline to reserve is Friday, May 12, 2023.
- Attorneys with a confirmed reservation who fail to attend must explain reasons in writing.
- No telephone calls will be accepted.
After the reservation period has closed, a confirmation notice will be sent to enrolled attorneys to the email address registered in the CM/ECF system. Any cancellations must be notified by Friday, May 26, 2023, to firstname.lastname@example.org.
